College Avenue Commons, home of the ASU School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (SSEBE), is a 5-story, 137,000 SF mixed-use building with classrooms, offices, and collaboration/study space. The building is a “Living Lab” that is embellished with technology to measure how it heats, cools, lights, energizes, and rests. Sustainability features include potable water reduction programs, use of recycled/renewable materials, an exterior skin designed to shade the building, and maximizing the use of natural light. Additional amenities include a 200-seat auditorium, marketplace, and coffee and wine bar. The project also included a 2,000 SF glass/steel shade canopy. LEED Gold Certified.
