Taylor Place is a two-tower, high-rise residence hall offering 13 stories each above the common, first floor. Each floor has a laundry facility, small meeting room, vending area, “atrium” lounge and screened porch areas. The first floor offers a cafeteria/dining area between towers; at ground level, administrative and retail space is made available for public and student purposes. There is also a fitness center on the kitchen roof, overlooking a 4000 SF shade garden.
The high-rise dorms are owned by Downtown Phoenix Student Housing LLC, a not-for-profit company, that sold bonds to pay for the $120 million development . Capstone Development Corporation was hired to develop and manage the project until the debt is repaid. At that time, ASU becomes the owner. Management of the dorms is a collaboration between ASU and Capstone.
