Time + Price + Quality = Value

PK Associates provides a full range of Structural Engineering Services from conceptual design through construction administration. PK Associates prefers to be involved in the project at the earliest stages of design, as it provides the most opportunity to provide creative solutions. Our team engages from the beginning in developing the REVIT planning model, column locations, and preliminary cost effective layouts. During the design process, PK Associates continually coordinates our drawings with the Architect and other consultants using REVIT.

44 Monroe

Value Analysis often provides project cost savings, allowing more of the budget to be utilized for additional architectural features or improved aesthetics. A specific PKA example is 44 Monroe, a luxury apartment complex in downtown Phoenix, AZ — the building was originally designed for 32 stories. Our efficient structural design saved the project enough money to add 2 extra stories resulting in a 34 stories building at the same construction budget.

Banner Estrella Tower Expansion

The Banner Estrella Hospital Expansion project included the addition of a 6-story tower, expanding the hospital by 280,000 SF, 178 additional private patient beds and two additional parking structures. PKA recommended the utilization of a cast-in-place (CIP) joist system—not the typical floor systems used in hospitals. This creative engineering and advanced knowledge of concrete saved over $1.5 million, by avoiding costly upfront mill orders and eliminating the need for fireproofing.
