This 5-story, 175,000 SF facility on the Tempe campus provides 19 state-of-the-art classrooms, collaboration, instructional, and office space to support the growth of academic programs. The project replaces the old Wilson Hall, which was constructed as a residence hall in 1956. The structure includes an outdoor classroom patio space on a portion of the second floor, covered by a large steel-framed canopy. The unique exterior design creates shaded walkways around the perimeter and an open expanse on the ground floor allows pedestrian traffic to flow through without having to enter the building.

Also encompassed in this project is the replacement of approximately 1,000 linear feet of the underground utility tunnel network that serve this and other facilities on the westside of campus. The replacement ensures the safe, reliable and sustainable operation of campus utility and information technology systems, as well as reduce the university’s deferred maintenance.

Pursuing LEED Silver certification.

Two-step Design-Build delivery method.
