Banner Desert Medical Center Expansion

This 5-story vertical expansion on top of the existing Cardon Children’s hospital brings an additional 158,000 SF and 168 beds to expand the Women’s Services program and increase the patient capacity to accommodate the growing local population. The construction type is steel frame supported on existing structure with the footprint expansion on concrete grade beams and caissons. The exterior skin system is 35,800 SF of prefabricated panels that were installed in under twelve days with a six man crew.
