The Casino del Sol Resort expansion includes 215 new luxury hotel rooms, a new conference center, an elaborate lobby lounge and bar, a full spa and outdoor pool, exercise facilities, a warehouse, and a four-level, covered garage structure for 1,100 vehicles.
The resort’s most prominent design feature is an illuminated copper dome topping the 10-story hotel. The two-story steel framed dome structure is supported by the roof level post-tensioned slab. The dome is built out of perforated copper and features color-changing LED lights. The dome is 26 feet in diameter, 26 feet tall, and weighs 11,000 pounds.
