The Fraesfield Trailhead facility (7,500 SF) and Granite Mountain Trailhead facility (14,000 SF) were designed and built simultaneously in the northeast corner of the Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The contemporary design of the buildings drew inspiration for the unique views of their respective sites.

Partially spanning an existing wash, both trailheads feature indoor/outdoor covered areas, canopies, and pedestrian bridges. The Fraesfield trailhead includes an equestrian steel ramada and restroom building.

Construction type of both structures is steel frame supported on spread footings.
