Renovation

The renovation of the 10-story, nearly hundred-year-old historic Luhrs Building converted county attorney’s offices into a vibrant, art-deco-inspired hotel across the street from CityScape and one block West of the Footprint Arena. Several historic interior elements such as staircases, octagonal columns, original mail chute, and the double-height clear story lobby were preserved and enhanced throughout, while new structural elements were designed, including new elevators and supports, a new stair connecting the basement and main floor, and a new mezzanine on the first floor. Second-floor enhancements included the removal and replacement of the central stair from level 2 up through level 8, as well as the addition of a mezzanine level at level 1.5 above the new lobby and the addition of an exterior canopy/awning covering the new entrance.
