The Player 15 Group Headquarters & Phoenix Mercury Training Facility is a 123,000 SF team-member campus that was renovated and retrofitted from what was originally a Pearce Beverage Co. Coors Brewing Company refrigerated distribution center built in 1970. The campus comprises the 76,000-SF renovated business headquarters for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Phoenix G League Team and arena operations, and an attached 58,000-SF Phoenix Mercury new training facility. The business center’s world-class amenities and resources include indoor-outdoor basketball courts, while the practice facility includes two indoor practice courts with 10 baskets, and full sports performance spaces.

The fast-track nature of the project was facilitated by self-certification. The retrofitted headquarters was completed in just five months, with the attached, new practice facility opening three months later. When joist manufacturers faced scheduling constraints, PKA designed 125-foot-long joists with two splice connections for on-site assembly. This time-saving solution, enabled by close coordination between the structural team, general contractor, and steel subcontractor, was one of several innovative solutions that helped the project team meet the timeframe.
