The Brigantine’s 42,000 SF Portside Pier includes four dining concepts and various public access features, such as a 4-foot-wide public walkway on the second level, along with a 3,700-square-foot viewing deck, a second floor public viewing deck with tables and benches for up to 108 visitors, and a dock and dine available for use by patrons and non-patrons of the adjacent restaurant. The project also features a unique steel structure above the concrete pier, including a special curved roof/wall.

PKA provided the structural design for the remodel of a 30,000 SF restaurant; including support of equipment and fixtures, kitchen equipment, wine call, kitchen hoods, and investigation of the existing roof deck for public occupancy. The project included coordination with a marine/embarcadero structural engineer, to strengthen the existing embarcadero deck.
